Dear innovators and researchers in tourism and hospitality,
we wanted to share some updates on conferences, encyclopedia and ask for your input on interests.
1) Your interests in AIRTH - please complete just three questions: Your AIRTH interests (NOT WORKING IF YOU ARE READING THIS ON AIRTH WEBSITE).
2) AIRTH 2019 conference: The program for the AIRTH 2019 conference in Innsbruck (September 12-14) is now 95% complete (AIRTH 2019 program) and consists of 19 academic and five practitioner presentations. Additionally, all 41 participants will visit four innovative attractions in the Innsbruck area. With a Virginia Tech research grant we were able to invite and pay accommodation for Marcella De Martino and Alessandra Marasco, two Italian service innovation researchers, to participate in a panel discussion and to stay for the conference.
3) ENTER 2020 conference: Similar to our partnership with the ATLAS 2018 in Copenhagen we are partnering with the International Federation for IT in Travel & Tourism for its annual ENTER conference (ENTER 2020) at the University of Surrey, UK from January 8-10. ENTER always has full papers and research notes. We opted to participate only in the research note submission program (2500-4000 words). IFITT manages a double-blind review process and requires at least five accepted papers to have our special track at the conference. All accepted submissions are treated as ENTER 2020 submissions and will be published as open access papers eRTR together with all other ENTER 2020 research notes. Submission deadline: Monday, September 16, 2019. Please consider submitting a research note. More details: https://enter2020.ifitt.org/innovation/
4) AIRTH encyclopedia: With Dominic Gialdini AIRTH had its first summer intern to assist in securing encyclopedia contributions. Dominic graduated with a BS in Recreation Administration from San Diego State University with Vinod Sasidharan, AIRTH founding member, as his adviser and currently pursues the Erasmus Mundus European Master in Tourism Management. Dominic contacted several companies to develop entries for the AIRTH encyclopedia. The encyclopedia now has 44 entries, of which 8 are from 2019 so far.
