Open kitchen is a unique culinary market and one of the most popular culinary projects in Slovenia. Every solar Friday from early spring to late autumn stalls representing selected restaurants, pubs, farmhouses, breweries and winemakers from all over Slovenia.
Pogačar's square at the central market in Ljubljana gives its picturesque image a wonderful framework for relaxed socializing with excellent traditional Slovenian and international food and beverages. Through the years of experience with Slovene cooking masters, knowledge of traditional dishes, raw materials and methods of preparation, we have developed an open kitchen platform, which is a meeting point for Slovenian culinary wealth.
The story started to be written in April, 2013. To date, 250 Open Cooks have been behind us. After one year, this event began to connect and cheer people outside of Ljubljana - Ptuj, Nova Gorica, Koper, Celje.
It is true that food is the main factor that pulls people together and gives them smiles on the faces and sparkle of satisfaction in the eyes, but for a long time we are thinking that we give all our guests a bit more and that we want to bring the open kitchen forward, with the added content, which will show the diversity and richness of not only the cultural but also the natural heritage of Slovenia.
